Yanitzia Canetti, author, editor and translator (Havana, 1967). Bachelorís in Journalism, Master in Linguistic and Ph.D. in Latin American Literature.
She has published over 60 books (novel, poetry, story, theatre, children literature). For the bilingual educational system, she has written fiction and nonfiction series, teacher guides, student editions, ancillaries texts and other types of educational materials. She has also written over 3,000 specialized articles, catalogs, and literary reviews published in newspapers and magazines in the United States, Cuba, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and other countries.
With a domain of Spanish, Italian and English, she has translated over 100 books (some classics of the English language literature).
Yanitzia, an award-winning author, has received many rewards such as the National Literature Award (Education Ministry, Cuba) 1984, 1985, 1986; the White Rose Literature Award (Best Literature of the Year, Cuba) 1994; Honorable Mention (National Associations of Hispanic Publications) CA. 1997 and others.
She also has 15 national and international photographic exhibitions in Cuba, Mexico, Italy, Spain and Denmark. Her works are part of the permanent collection of various galleries of the world.
She works as editorial director at Cambridge BrickHouse Inc. She is also a literary assessor for educational programs of Houghton Mifflin, Harcourt, Scott Foresman, and others publishing companies.
At present, Canetti lives in Andover, Massachusetts, with her two sons, Ares and Eros.
