I went through the normal teenage-angst-type phase of poetry - took it out some years later and winced - and began to hone my skills at UKZN. My lecturer, Kobus Moolman, started me writing poetry again, and gave me the confidence to write more. I was approached by Static Print student magazine to write and edit for them, which I did until after my final year. I have a book in progress at the moment, which I suppose one could loosely categorise as fantasy. In addition, and to supplement my income, I run an online editing business, and offer my services as an agent, after being approached by a colleague to promote his work. I worked as a researcher for a social research company in Durban for just under a year, starting out as a temporary proof-reader. It was interesting, and it got me into the habit of writing a few pages a day. I have been thinking about putting together an anthology of the various poetry I have written, but for now, I'm focusing on my book and my company.
