Well, my name is Melanie. I'm fifteen years old. Yes, those are the basic-basics. I started out writing a book, which didn't quite work out as I wrote myself into a dead-end. I'll admit, I made a mistake in writing that. Since then, I've written a very brief short story for a friend (which was really just for the heck of it) and a lot of poetry. I go to a college-preparatory high school near Washington, DC, and I absolutely love it. I'm hoping to become a member of the writing club there, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to. I'd certainly love to get published, but first I guess I need to finish a work, don't I? Basically, I guess what the unobservant, high-and-mighty type older writer may call my work is "completely typical of a teenager" or "material that comes a dime a dozen" But, you know, I'm trying to write to a teenage audience, so I guess that would make sense, wouldn't it? Interests: Writing (well, obviously), Music (music is my life outside of writing), acting (not something I can see myself doing professionally so much as a hobby), spending time with friends, etc. Teenager stuff, mostly.
