Jim and family operate SledDog Lodge in Michigans Upper Peninsula near the town of Paradise. SledDog Lodge is a premere Iditarod training camp with early snow and hundreds of miles of training trails.
A retired engineer turned sled dog trainer Jim ran Iditraod '04 as the oldest rookie finishing in 13 days. His son Christopher joined the training and followed his father to the start in Anchorage Ak., and then hitch hiked by bush plane along the famed Iditarod trail. They team up to write the book, 'Following my Father's Dreams, Journals of a Rookie Iditarod Run.'
Christopher is a a graduate of Michigan Technical Univ, as a Civil Engineer. Sister Whitney is a student in Nursing at Northern Michigan University. Mother Jennifer works as a corporate Patent Attorney.
Jim spends summers farming Christmas trees at Warren Homestead Tree Farm in Linwood, MI.
