RON MORGANS is a picture newspaperman pure and simple, if that is not a contradiction of words. At 17 he joined the Sunday Express in Fleet Street. By 23 he was on the socialist Daily Herald. Five years later he was covering the Beatles rise as Picture Editor of the broadsheet Daily Express, in itīs heyday as the UKīs biggest seller. After time on the Daily Mail and the Sun, in the 80īs, he was launch Picture Editor of the TODAY newspaper bringing edition colour news pictures to Britains breakfast tables. The 90īs saw him join the Daily Mirror, a tabloid still reeling from the plundering of Robert Maxwell. As an Assistant Editor he introduced the modern picture technology that restored the Mirror titles as the pre-eminent force they are as leading picture tabloids. He now lives in Spain with wife Alison writing books.
