College grad, living in Central America, student of history and lies my teacher told me. (Okay, I stole the excellent title.)
Personally frustrated ovet the belief that there are "good guys" and "bad guys," when the reality is that, in order to survive or to continue a way of life, people will do almost anything. Thus, "we" become the good guys and "they" are, naturally, the bad guys.
Living in Central America offers an interesting contrast to growing up in the Big Apple. The weather, economic conditions and the language are different. In most respects, however, people are the same. Perhaps living her has mellowed me in my old age.
