I have degrees in music and literature, I've played the cello and written book reviews and "feature" articles in New Jersey and Washington State. I walk and I read. I go to plays. I take care of a grandson. And I burrow into my own and other people's psychological histories.
Less and less do I believe that the surface facts take me far, so that in my writing as well as in my reading I am more and more interested in pursuing images and myths. But if you saw me, I'd look like a reasonably adjusted person coping with modern life (except for when I'm stamping around screeching about the current political and social powers that be).
