Debra spent 15 years working as a pharmacist before simultaneously moving into clinical research and beginning to write fiction. Her first young adult fantasy novel, An Unlikely Duke," was self-published in 2005, followed by the sequel, "A Prince in Need," in 2006. The series will run for five volumes. Debra currently resides in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where she shares a home with her sister and three cats.
