Since graduation at the turn of the eighties I have worked as a writer, journalist and university teacher. Until recently, I was the General Secretary of the Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA. My published works include "The Night Hides with a Knife" ( a collection of short stories); "Voices in the Rainbow" (poems)and Co-Edited "We-Men: An Anthology of Men Writing on Women". I was joint winner of the maiden ANA/Spectrum Fiction Prize and got Honorary Mention for the Cadbury Poetry Prize. Amongst other projects, I ma currently working on a ground breeaking anthology of new Nigeria writing, CAMOUFLAGE, due to be published soon. Interests: Fiction, poetry, criticism and journalism. In between the crevices, I am particularly interested in narrativity, orality and popular culture.
