Ray White

Agent: Ashley Kraas

Denver, United States

Email: whitebear@netscape.com

When he’s not writing, Ray White is a builder specializing in earth-friendly construction technologies. He is an avid and eclectic reader who buys more books than he could ever possibly read even though he reads pretty much constantly. He is an idealist and an optimist, and yes, a dreamer. He’s a gifted public speaker who can charm and amuse a crowd almost as easily as an individual.

Described as quiet (if he’s whispering in Colorado people in Kansas plug their ears) and even-tempered (he was once observed chasing after a concrete truck, waiving a framing hammer) Ray is a talented story-teller and vivid writer.

Before he got married and settled down, he lived an adventurous life. From exploring caves to scuba diving, flying ultralight aircraft, hang gliding, winter mountaineering and doing month long solo wilderness backpacking trips, Ray lived for the thrill of adventure.

He rode roundups as a ranch hand in the Colorado Rockies; searched for lost treasure and prospected for gold. He was once “directionally confused" (lost) for 10 days in the jungles of Sarawak, on the island of Borneo.

Ray says he likes to think these experiences give his writing a unique flavor. He has written or co-authored six novels, including Tap Doubt (Your Next Glass of Water Could Kill You), Dixie Rose (Even a Bad Girl Can Be Good), The Dying Time trilogy (A post-apocalyptic battleground) and American Jihad (Taking terror to the terrorists).

Ray and his co-author Duane Lindsay are currently collaborating on a non-fiction work titled, THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOOKS - How Famous Authors Got Published and How You Can Too. They have spent the last six months interviewing and collecting the "how they did it" stories of such authors as Dave Barry, Stephen Coonts, Stuart Woods, Kyle Mills, Margaret Coel, Janet Evanovich, J.A. Jance, Jonathan Kellerman, David Morrell, Thomas Perry and numerous others.

Any published author who reads this who has an intriguing, funny, or strange tale of how they first got a novel published is invited to contact me with your story. You will get free publicity by being in our book, which several of the above authors have agreed to help us promote. You don't have to be famous. You just have to have a great story.

I hope to hear from lots of you.
