i am medical student of ahmadu bello univerisity. have two most curenty works titled MUMMY and GRAVE soon to hit the market . below is an extract. Atimes, I wonder how long we would pay deaf ears to those plights that are affecting our people, especially the African women, the bride of the sun. Beautifully beaded with natural blessing, her hairs plaited in an enviable pattern. Because we want to modernise everything,we had reprinted our culture in digitals that we do not want our children and visitors to see its ugly background.yet, one fact still remained after all that we have done to forget our root, those things we painted in colourful scenes are gradually wearing away. The hideous tradition and customs have tied most of our women to slavery directly or indirectly that just a few of them break through those walls of limitations to take giant step to fame.just the few of them can not make much difference when their ratio to the men is below count. What happened to the millions in slavery to female genitalia mutilation, prostitution, human trafficking, rape and abuse, custom and traditions that had ripped them off their inheritance, crushed marriage when issue of male child comes up and many others?. In this upcoming novel titled "GRAVE"I have painted a bizarre picture of what this inhuman treatments could lead to in my nearby future of friction.something worse than the Aba women’s riot that would put everyone on edge, when the men became the hunted. I brought back a primitive and undefiled Africa where the reverse of our modern world was being practised-women at the helm of every affair including the government while the men are mere husbands. The painting of the scenes was of artistic works of impossibilities that you might begin to wonder if it was real. As I resurrected those things that kept us running in the night in the primitive Africa.Where evil overrules the good, bringing back those things that Christianity and science and technology thought that they had wiped off.putting back lives into those greedy whites that posed as missionaries to exploits us in the precolonial and colonial era. As I tried not to be sentimentally attached to any religion to send the message home. "Grave"is about a lost world that was found in the Federal republic of Nigeria whose natural resource would replace the present Nigeria’s source of revenue which is oil.unfortunately, no one knew where it was because it was a primitive world that lost out in our modern civilisation. The reverse of our world where the women were at the helm of the affair of every aspect of their life Where female genitalia mutilation was carried out and every type of evil was in existence. A sect of women in Nigeria decided to take over the affair of the government of Nigeria known as the "sisterhood of the cross"with the help of these resources if they could outsmart the scientists that the federal government sent to search for this lost kingdom. It was a race against time as the kingdom was about to be destroyed by an unknown calamity. And to worsen the matter it was located in the eastern part of Nigeria who is fighting to be given the Republic of Biafria. This lost world was the key to the unity of Nigeria so the government fought to eradicate this primitive world before it resulted in another bloody civil war and also killing the scientists that they sent. And when words went out about the calamity that was about to befallen Nigeria, panic and problems arose that sent many to their untimely graves.like its name, it was done on a terrific settlings that would keep the reader glue to his seat until he was through with the reading. chukwuemeka ernest jr 08036092344 Interests: writing on african and fiction, making friedns
