He is former statistics and experimental design consultant for the Social Problems Research Institute and has participated in extensive psychological research in psychological and educational testing and juvenile delinquency. He is a nationally-recognized expert in high-stakes testing and has written extensively on that subject. He is currently an adjunct professor at Converse College, where he teaches graduate-level psychology courses in developmental psychology, neuropsychology, statistics and psychometrics, personality, psychotherapy, behavior modification, and child and adolescent psychology. He is also Chief Psychologist for the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice. He holds multiple advanced black belts in martial arts with recognition by the South Korean Moo Duk Kwan as a certified instructor in Tang Soo Do and Soo Bahk Do. He is an expert outdoorsman and tracker and is curently compiling a history of The Great Tunnel.
