Shamed at my disastrous A-level results, I shuffled into the offices of my local newspaper begging for work. I was there for seven years. My first job with them was writing a weekly pop column in return for free lemonade. My last job there was editing the paper in return for a hefty wage - oh, and free lemonade. I now manage a bookshop, DJ strange bleepy music (see www.fatroland.com) and write in my spare time. Interests: Writing (watching my thoughts go round and round).
