I was born in a hospital in America during the turbulent 1980s. Despite being rather unsightly when first pulled out, and being covered with various unpleasant fluids, I was given a good towelling-off, and thereafter I was cute. I don't remember any of that personally, of course, but I figure a bit of speculation on the matter can do little harm now.
After a few years of toddling about and chewing on things, I was put into school, where I learned very little but managed a few awards in writing, perhaps most memorably a Scholastic Writing Award for a twelve-part story called "Donuts". This was then reprinted in a publication known as Wordsmith.
After graduating I moved to Philadelphia and attended Drexel Univerisity, located within walking distance of the post office. I managed first place in the Freshman Writing Competition there, with an autobiographical essay titled "Names".
Other notable work of the period included the popular made-for-radio comedy "Broadcast" and the three-part satire "Death", the first part of which was selected as the year's best short story by Experimental Forest, a regional literary magazine.
I developed a humourous comic strip called "Starblind Nation", the first serialised comic to consist of photographs of custom-made painted wooden figures.
In addition to writing, I have developed an interest in the visual arts and have seen some of my photography be published, most recently in OC Magazine, a monthly Orange County publication.
Looking toward the future, I have a number of projects at hand, such as a twelve-part series of stories which approaches book length when taken together. I'm also planning on installing one of those motorised tie racks. Interests: Old-time radio, Victorian detective fiction, cultural preservation.
