Stephen Ritchie was born on the Faroe Islands and moved to Glasgow in the summer of ’86. Stephen is a promising young fuck-up approaching his mid twenties, working in a Southside greasyspoon and wishes it to be known that cooking for the masses is where he's at!
Stephen's involvement with Single Cell Press arose in the Winter of 2004, when he approached us with a series of short stories under the title of "Nae Pishing in the Sink" in response to our call for new blood. This piece of work blew us away, and was a welcome blast of honesttogod filth amongst the piles of deadwood we received. This collection in a reworked format is Single Cell Press' next release, under the new title of "Vermin", the title itself inspired by Ritchie's love of Jean Genet... "Vermin" is scheduled for release on the 30th November 2005 through Single Cell, more information on which is available on the website.
Stephen is politically active and has been arrested on numerous occasions at Faslane and more recently at the Gleneagles G8 summit. For more information on Stephen Ritchie and "Vermin", please visit
