While deciding what I wanted to do with my life, I attended the University of Maine where I received a degree in Business Management.
I then spent eight years as a Security Specialist in the United States Air Force. My job was to be prepared to take action in the event of any emergency and to be aware of terrorism risks and dangers around the world. I also trained and was certified as a Hostage/Crisis Negotiator with FBI specialists. I served in Europe, Asia and the United States.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force, I studied History, Government and foreign affairs.
Since my second stint in Academia, I have spent hundreds of hours of personal time studying foreign languages (French, Spanish & Russian), international relations, terrorist groups and motives and informing myself on the work done by the Departments of State and Homeland Security.
I am a mother who proudly wears combat boots and is quite handy with firearms from the M-9 to the Mark-19. I currently live in Colorado with my husband and son.
