Gerard Taylor

Agent: Representing myself so far.
Oslo, Norway

I was born in Manchester and have lived in London, Los Angeles and Norway. Have worked as a freelance copywriter and journalist.

My upcoming book is "Capoeira: The Jogo de Angola from Luanda to Cyberspace", which will be a detailed two volume history of the African-Brazilian art form : Capoeira.

This is set to come out in October 2005.

I`ve also recently finished "A Drape Suit, A Germs Burn and a Boulevard of Broken Dreams" which is an encyclopedic history of the late 1970`s L.A, Hollywood and San Fransisco punk rock scene and something of an introductory auto-bio of my part within it. This has photo illustrations by Richard DiLello, author of "The Longest Cocktail Party" and the Sean Penn movie "Bad Boys"

There are other books presently in various stages of completion, for some of which I have found a publisher already.

What am I reading ?

Presently reading "Story" by Robert McKee, which is very interesting.

Writing ambition: To keep on writing, both non-fiction and fiction and somehow to garner enough time to materialize many of the projects which are building up on my long-term things to write list.

Interests: Capoeira, family, cooking, high repetition calisthenic training, reading, and loads of other things.

Published writer: Yes

Freelance: Yes
