In addition to writing features and monthly columns for MotorBoating (“Tips From A Pro”) and Trailer Boats (“Boat Improvement”) magazines, David’s free-lancing and assignment credits have included appearances in Boating World, Dockside, Lakeland Boating, Offshore, Power & Motoryacht, Sail, Soundings and Yachting magazines and on the web sites eBoating.com and boattest.com.
His work has evoked editorial comments such as “elegant”, “a clean, coherent writing style” and “thoroughly researched and well written” and is usually accompanied by his own technical illustrations and photography . His articles have garnered awards in the 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2004 Writing Competitions sponsored by Boating Writers International.
