Graduating with an MA in English at Oxford, British-born author Richard Graham-Yooll began his career in insurance. Business visits to Saudi Arabia taught him valuable lessons in mutual incomprehension and misunderstanding and provide much of the background for his first novel, "A Foreign Policy". Starting a business of his own, he avoided a conventional sales force, by writing and publishing newsletters of topical interest to attract new clients and keep existing ones loyal. Migrating to the United States with his family, he translated his formula into an advertising service for other businesses by producing custom newsletters on their behalf. After moving first to Florida, and then Massachusetts, he now lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. He has worked as a campaign manager for a local politician in Florida and for the National Writers Union Massachusetts. He has served on the boards of a chamber of commerce, two theatre groups and a literary magazine. He has written stories for magazines in the UK and US. Concluding, that in the present market it's better to write short stories for fun than for profit, he prefers to publish them on his web site, www.crumbsfromheaven.com. Now settled in Raleigh, he is completing his second novel "Unclouded by Reason", centered on an American religious cult. Background to the new story is provided on a website, www.coherentchurch.org.
