James Sullivan Prine grew up in Chalmette, Louisiana (just outside New Orleans) and St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army, Prine entered law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff-EMT in 1975 with the St. Bernard Sheriff's Office. Since then, Prine has served with Federal, State, Parish (County) and Municipal law enforcement agencies, in a variety of assignments, including Special Agent, Detective, High-tech Crimes Investigator, Intelligence Officer, Police Diver, Narcotics Dog Handler, and Field Training Officer.
Licensed as a Private Pilot and Amateur Radio Operator, Prine is also a Parachutist, a Master Scuba Diver, and an award-winning photographer. A Life Member of the National Rifle Association and Police Marksman's Association, James Prine is currently based in New Orleans. Interests: Flying, sport parachuting, cave diving, skiing, shooting, motorcycles, photography, radio, reading, writing, New Mexico, Switzerland, England, travel.
