I was born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1975 and became a journalist in 1999 after graduating from journalism school at the Catholic University of Portugal.
I then worked as a journalist and editor for a web newspaper, Diario Digital, and for Diario Economico in Portugal, mainly in the arts section but also in the international affairs area.
I left to London in 2002 to take a masters in International Journalism at City University with a Chevening scholarship granted by the British Council. My masters thesis, How To Make a Pop Music Hit, covered all aspects of instant star making in today's music business.
I am now back in Portugal and currently working as a part time staffer at the Associated Press news agency bureau in Lisbon. I also freelance for Diario Economico and Vogue magazine among others.
