Born in Calgary, Rick Sutclife has lived in the Fraser
Valley near Vancouver since the late 1960s. A
mathematician by education, he got into computing
science in the early days of the microcomputer and is
now Professor of Mathematics and Computing
Science at Trinity Western University in Ft. Langley,
BC. He has been involved in national and
international standards efforts in computing and is
the author of a text for beginning programmers.

He also has interests in the application of Christian
ethics to the high technology world, speaks
frequently on such subjects, and has authored a text
in this field as well. These interests led him to further
explorarion of the choices relating to technology use
in fictional form, and he has published a series of
novels focusing on such ideas in the form of what he
calls "Irish Christian Science Fiction."
