Well, there's not really a lot to say about myself. I suppose, by most standards, I'm a pretty boring guy. I've been married for almost ten years, I have two wonderful sons. In my youth, I used to spend much of my time in school daydreaming. In fact, I used to get chewed out a lot by my Principal, teachers and advisors, due to the daydreaming. Been doing it for years. Over the years, I've written a variety of simple things, mostly poetry and short stories. These were nothing more than simple doodles, which other people seemed to enjoy. And recently, I found myself watching some movie on the Sci-Fi Channel (I'll be nice, and not put in a title), but it was so horrible, I found myself saying, "I could write a story better than that!". My wife told me to put up or shut up. So, I sat down this spring, and began to write the outline of one of my many musings. It's a sci-fi novel, of course, and I spent eight weeks finishing the outline, character backgrounds, and researching the theoretical technology I'll be throwing into the book. Due to my hectic schedule, I only have a limited amount of time to write every day. But every time I power up my laptop, I manage to write a page or two, and by my estimation, I have this novel about half-finished. I never dreamed I would get this far, much less that I'd be able to do this at all. I found the writers.net website during a search for publishing companies, agent directories, ect. I think that of all the things I've done in my life, seeing this work bound in paper, with some cool artwork would be one of my greatest achievements. I daydream (big surprise), of one day walking into a bookstore, and seeing my finished work on a shelf. I look forward to getting some feedback from other writers. I think my sci-fi ideas are fresh, new, and hopefully, enjoyable to others.
