A former elementary and middle school science teacher, she currently earns her keep as a freelance editor specializing in critiquing fiction manuscripts. She also writes a blog about balancing writing with life and is the group leader of Raleigh Fiction Writing Group. She stays busy as the Web designer and developer of her Web site, her husband Harry Calhoun's, and the Pig in a Poke magazine's site.
