Diana Barshaw

Haifa, Israel

Email: Barshaw@ocean.org.il

I am a Marine Biologist, born in NYC, traveling and living all over the world, and living in Haifa, Israel for the last 15 years. All my credentials are in science, (PhD in Biology from Boston University, many published papers in peer reviewed scholarly Journals, positions in research and teaching). I have never published any fiction and such was never part of my ambition. And yet… I come from a literary family, my mother is a poet and my brother writes popular songs. Reading voraciously and broadly has been part of my life from childhood, and telling stories particularly to my children, has always been a part of my character. So perhaps it is not such a huge break from my past that a few years ago I began to write a story in my spare time.
The story gradually took over my life, and a few days ago I finished a full length novel entitled ‘Losing Rachel’. The story is a Romantic Thriller set between the USA and Israel. It is the kind of book I love to read when I need to escape from the here and now.
Any advise on how to get an agent and how to get my new novel published would be welcome!
