Harry Highstreet

809 Langley Circle
St. Clair, Michigan, United States

Email: highstreetharry@sbcglobal.net

I was very close to my mother the morning I was born. I didnít get to meet the rest of the family until later that day. The mid-wife who delivered me (in a bedroom which later became our kitchen), told us I was a fine, bouncing baby boy (even though my stomach was upset with all that bouncing). I was born with golden locks (no keys), and with absolutely no control over my bladder and bowels; a condition which is struggling at this time to return with great regularity (or is that irregularity).
I had a wonderful childhood, made it through the teens without too much damage, and after graduation from High School I joined the Navy to avoid the draft only to find out later that all I had to do was close the door. Honorably discharged I sailed through our higher education system to get recharged, earning an MA and BJ from MU majoring in ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS. Initially I was doing quite well. For the next (none of your business) years I hammered away at my ole typewriter churning out news and advertising and specials for radio and television, and publishing a column for different newspapers.
For the past three years I have joined the ranks of freelancers, hammering away at the ole keyboard, and have published three books with a PODer to get started. My current publisher has published my latest novel, and another novel is in pre-production.
Oh, yeah, my first name is Harry and my last name was Hoogstraat (Dutch), later changed to Highstreet (English) primarily, rumor has it, because most people pronounced the Dutch name Hogís Trot (that ainít even close) and the entire clan (there was a bunch of us) got sick of the whole thing and made the change.

Interests: Writing, reading, music, building model ships, recording my original songs.
