1982-1985 VP of The Westchester Songwriters Guild. Responsibilities included developing and critiquing demos, arranging songwriting showcases and recording sessions.
1994-1997 President of the nationally recognized Hudson Valley Writers’ Association. Lead sessions to critique literary works for publication and performance.
1996 - Present Founder and host of the Voices Of The Valley Poetry Performance Series, in its sixth year at Monkey Joe Roasting Co. 478 Broadway in Kingston, NY and sponsored in part by Poets and Writers, Inc. Core duties include locating, auditioning, and developing talent; advertising and arranging readings.
1997- Present Invited by the publishers of Rhythm and News Magazine
(www.rhythmandnews.com) to “rant, rave and misbehave” and thus was born The Rock
‘n Roll Curmudgeon (www.rocknrollcurmudgeon.com) Monthly contributions now include CD, book, and concert reviews; interviews (e.g. Peter Wolf, David Amram, Bill Payne, Sloan Wainwright). A second monthly column is devoted to bootleg and import recordings under the non de plume, billy d. bootlegg.
