Amy L.

Email: amy@creditcardcentral.net

30-something freelance artist with a love for the written word and the dream of becoming published in the fiction genre. (This is not intended to be translated into "middle-aged, delusion housewife," though that is probably closer to the truth.)

I have 8 cats and, no, I don't want the one you just found in the alley behind your apartment building. Thanks anyway. How do you think I got the eight I already have? Have you SEEN the price of cat food these days? Pfft! Just say no.

I am sure I am supposed to be putting something market-worthy and clever here, but I have no idea what that might be. After all, it did ask for MY bio, not for Stephen King's. However, if you'd like me to make up a bunch of stuff just to sound self-important enough to be taken seriously, please e-mail me and I will be happy to oblige.

I find it much easier being an American in Canada than I found it being an American in the States. The fact that most Canadians think being an American is pretty cool helps. After all, no one back in Indiana thought I was all that cool just for being born.

Did I mention I have 8 cats? Can you imagine cleaning all of those litter boxes? It's no wonder I'm only on Chapter 4 of my first novel. I'm busy!

Maybe I should say something about being hungry, or unable to pay my rent, or something. You know, add to the struggling artist mystique and make myself a sympathetic figure all in one fail swoop. Well, I am a little tight on cash, but I can still afford McDonald's anytime I want it. Big Macs are my favorite, and that probably explains the extra 20 or so pounds I am carrying around like an inner tube looking for the lake.

Oh, wait. I shouldn't put that in here. What if my future agent reads it and somehow manages to find out who I am, then refuses to read my novel because he (or more likely, she) thinks I'm not taking my work seriously enough? Pretend I didn't say that, please? Thanks! Whew. What was I thinking?

Anyway, I'm here to learn and interested in reading as much as I am writing, so I guess I'd better get to it. Thanks for the read. Drop me a note if you can help me think of something to say here. I hate writer's block, even if it does get me out of vacuuming.
