Maureen was born in Niles, Michigan. She studied English and creative writing, first at Niles High School and later at Western Michigan University. She earned an English Major/Creative Writing Emphasis from WMU and obtained teaching certification.
Fascinated with her motherís country of birth, Maureen traveled to Australia in 1981 to visit relatives. She met and married her husband in 1983. She now resides on the Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria, with her husband, her two teenaged children, two Labradors, two cats and a dozen chickens.
Maureen has been publishing short stories and articles in Australia and the U.S. for many years. She was a staff writer for Australian Runner Magazine for three years. Her novel, SHADOWS IN THE MIST, a mystery/suspense, was published by Avid Press, LLC in 2001, and is now re-released by Hard Shell Word Factory (http://www.hardshell.com ,U.S.). A romantic modern gothic, RETURN OF THE GULLS, was released from Hard Shell Word Factory in May, 2004. The sequel to RETURN OF THE GULLS, a novella entitled GHOSTS OF AULD LANG SYNE, is included in an anthology also to be released from Hard Shell Word Factory in October, 2004. The anthology is entitled ENCHANTED HOLIDAYS.

Maureen is published in an anthology of short stories entitled CRUMBS IN THE KEYBOARD, a support project for women writers, with all royalties donated to assist victims of domestic violence (June, 2002, Echelon Press: http://www.echelonpress.com). She has a historical romance, THE SEA, THE SOUTH, THE STORM, and a creative writing teacherís manual, 50 LESSONS TO BETTER CREATIVE WRITING, currently completed and under consideration, and is working on a third mystery/suspense entitled APOLLO MOON.
In January 2001 Maureen was named by Western Michigan University as one of eleven noteworthy alumni and featured in the 2001 WMU Foundation Calendar.
Maureen was director and owner of EPPRO (The Electronically Published Professionals: http://www.eppro.net), an exclusive organization that worked to bring quality and professionalism to electronic publishing. She is now co-director of BooksWeLove.net (www.bookswelove.net), a site promoting authors, publishers and their books to readers.
Maureen is co-moderator of Australia/New Zealand (ANZ) Authors. She is a member of the Fellowship of Australian Writers (FAW), the Victorian Writerís Centre and the Australian Society of Authors (ASA).
