Agent: I NEED ONE!!
Cape Cod, Massachusetts, United States

Email: troysmith2004@yahoo.com

yes, I\'m published. Wrote a killer biography on the band, Nirvana (St Martins Press, April 2004). Yes, I love to write. Especially about life. And yes, the ink flows freely at the drop of a dime. There\'s not an assignment I can\'t complete without passion & integrity.

I was a young black man in the 1970\'s who grew up first in a neighborhood filled with Black Panthers and Che Guevara sympathizers, then went to high school in a neighborhood of white people who had never seen a black person in their entire lives. I went to college in the southwest and was befriended first by Isleta Indians and then by Ciudad Juarez Mexicans; an experience of unconditional trust and friendship I am STILL not able to put into words....in time, became a copywriter and news writer for too many radio stations to list, program director of an award-winning alternative radio station in Boston, MA, and one of several operations directors of the Harvard Business School.

Oh yeah, i was a ballboy for the Boston Celtics for one season, which doesn't sound like much except that I was 25 years old and that pissed off a lot of 10-year-olds who would ask me at every game how they could become a ballboy.......and I became a Sous chef in my early 20\'s thanks to a first-hand education from a former head chef of the Kennedy family.

Yep, those Kennedys.

In addition to my book on Nirvana, I have written articles for:

Fader Magazine, NYC
Radio and Records Magazine, LA, CA
the Harvard Business School weekly, Boston, MA

and now I am currently writing a book on my experience meeting the Ku Klux Klan face-to-face in rural New Orleans in the mid-1990\'s.

I have been featured in interviews with:

VH-1/XM Satellite Broadcasts
Billboard Monitor Magazine
the Cape Cod (MA) Times
Danbury (CT) News-Times
FMQB Magazine
Next Magazine
Radio and Production Magazine.

Have also written and produced interview compact discs for:

Geffen Records (Nirvana)
Elektra Records (Breeders, Frank Black)
London Records (Paul Weller)

as well as national radio ad campaigns for:

Sony Music
Burton Snowboards
Tanglewood Jazz Series
London Record
HMV Record Stores
Festival of Animation

Have been a Guest Speaker/Panelist for:

the NEMO Music Showcase and Conference, Boston
South by Southwest Music Conference, Austin TX
Nat‘l Asso. of College Broadcasters Seminar, Brown U., Tufts University, Boston
College Music Journal Convention, New York City
WBZ-TV, Boston

And I have interview interesting folks like Jack Bradley, Colin FIrth, Marina Sirtis, Exene Cervenka, Mila Jovovich, Dave Grohl, Krist Noveselic, KRS-1, to name a few.

So there you have it.... is that enough experience in life to justify hiring me as your next writer? It appears that no subject matter escapes me, but I suppose that\'s for you to decide.

I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to email me anytime.

That's that, then.
