William J. (Bill) Calabrese has wanted to write books for as long as he has been able to read them, and he learned to read at the age of six. After a long career in information processing, he has finally been able to attain his dream of becoming a full-time writer. First in the East is his fourth published novel, all by Wings Press. A fifth and a sixth are underway.
Mr. Calabrese’s primary interest is in fictionalizing little-known personalities and incidents in American history. The favorite period for his “historicals” is the time between the beginning of the American Revolution and the end of the War of 1812. He also writes “soft horror” novels, mysteries, and any other type of book that strikes his fancy.
Although born in the Midwest, he was brought to Connecticut by his parents while still an infant, and considers himself a Connecticut Yankee. He grew up in Stamford, then moved to Brookfield, where he lived for twenty-seven years, and currently is a resident of Southbury.
