Writing is an artform as most of you know, that needs to be refined with a focused purpose if it is to be the most powerful and effective. I have always had a natural gift for writing, but the need came when writing became a mission instead of a casual hobby because it was a tool that I could use to create something beautiful out of pain-something constructive out of something damaged.
I spent most of my life either enduring pain and abuse or in the process of reconstruction and recovery. I escaped from a severe and longterm domestic violence relationship over twenty years ago, with five children in tow, I vitually disappeared.
In the years that followed, I gained the education and training that was necessary to write Torn From the Inside Out with a broad perspective, I wanted to incorporate many voices with my own; therefore Torn From the Inside Out was written over a period of ten years, chiseled to reflect the best of literary narrative in a flowing story that reads like fiction.
Like all artists, the final verdict comes from the viewers and readers...I have left it to the many readers to decide if I accomplished my purpose, if TORN is in fact art.
