Indonesian, 26 yrs-old, in November 2003, published a debut comedy novel 'Jomblo' in Indonesia, also work for a shipping company, currently being assigned in Cote d'Ivoire (yes people....western Africa, that's it right there).
The book was on sale the same day I was accepted to go abroad so little could I do on the promotion. Even so, despite all this, since Nov03 to Jun04, it has been reprinted 7 times, totalling in 24000 copies. And yes, this is my debut.
I, miraculously, graduated from ITB in..wanna take a stab at it?..No..No..No..get this, Civil Engineering (yes I know I do look like a rocket scientist...but, modesty now, modesty). Does not correlate sanely to writing does it? Well, studying in ITB...does things to u. U tend to work in a field that is NOT what u learned in ITB.
I love movies since I was a sperm and the only reason I wrote my debut novel was because I didn't have enough resources (finance and time) to make a movie. Turned out that writing 'Jomblo' changed my life (you will NOT see this tag line in Oprah) as it opened a wide range of people and net working which I STUPIDLY had to let go because now I am being assigned in Africa.
What's that? No, I'm not a marine though, I DO have the muscular body, Greek Gods can only compete with. Sorry? no...I'm not seamen either..tch. Like I said I work for a shipping company. Writing is a hobby.
My dream is, well...at least that does not involve the pivotal presence of a mazola oil and my being a prisoner of a non-cannibal-amazon women tribe, is to make a movie.
