In addition to communing with 600-year-old wizards to create The Book of Wizard Craft, The Book of Wizard Parties, and The Book of Wizard Magic, Janice Eaton Kilby has authored and edited many other successful, prize-winning books published by Lark Books, a subsidiary of Sterling Publishing Company, New York. Publisher’s Weekly ranked The Book of Wizard Craft number 25 in children’s hardcover frontlist titles of 2001 and it has been published in 18 languages to date. Having parted from Lark on friendly terms, Janice is currently working on a number of new projects.
In her previous life, Janice served as executive director of Georgia Lawyers for the Arts, a nonprofit legal aid organization. Janice is also a photographer and former studio artist at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center. A graduate of Duke University, she studied at Otis Parsons/Los Angeles, Art Center College of Design, and in the MFA program at Georgia State University. She was a finalist in the American Photography Institute Graduate Seminar Series of the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University, and has exhibited widely. Janice lives with her family, including two dogs and four cats, in the mountains outside of Asheville, North Carolina.
