Leigh McCormick was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, but spent the first ten years of her life as an Air Force brat living all over the country before returning to Vegas. After graduating with degrees in English, Sociology, and Communications, she began her career in journalism as a reporter/producer at a local television station followed by years in Public Relations. Over the past 20 years, her writing credits, publishing for small press and local news organizations, include essays, short stories, poetry, feature and hard news writing. She has been editor of several cultural publications as well as a part time and guest writing instructor/lecturer at both the local community college and university. Most recently she was the feature reporter of the short lived Stok'd magazine.
She is presently working on book of short stories slated to come out by the end of 2008. She has written one novel, The Window, and has begun her second novel, Blood Magic. Excerpts of both novels can be found on her website.

Ms. McCormick lives in Las Vegas with her husband and two cats.
