My degrees: B.A., M.A., Ph. The "Ph" without a "D" is not a mistake. I dropped out after finishing all doctoral classwork in sociology. A letter from the Dean suggested I return and behave myself but, in my fifties and fed up with political correctness, that was not an option. So, no doctorate, but I sure did get a philosophy.
My life story is like that of Forrest Gump; I was in the right places at the right times to see history being made. Of course, Forrest actually effected that history and made better career choices -- apparantly being smarter than me. Still, I was there with front row seats and have a lot to write about.
I wrote "Bought, Not Sold", an expose on the real estate industry. I self-published it, not because publishers didn't like it, but because I didn't know how to get them to read it. It has sold in all fifty states and five countries, and in every month since 1998 on amazon.com; but it never made a bookshelf in any bookstore though bookstores frequently special order at the request of customers responding to "word of mouth" and solid endorsements from prestigious consumer advocates. That's a good indicator that I'm a good writer and a bad publisher.
I wrote 13 articles for the International Real Estate Digest (ired.com), and a mess of newspaper editorial page columns.
New book (2012), "The Rosary: Prayer for Thinking Christians" now available in both print and ebook versions. Publishers site with links to major booksellers: http://www.cognabooks.com/rosary/
A stage play is sitting on-line for someone to read at http://www.cognabooks.com/site/stage.html -- The Eyes of the Virgin -- about one man's discovery of the miracle of Guadalupe. There's a screen version too, the reason for which is perhaps a bigger mystery than the miracle.
Poetry too, if you can call it that. Here's one I wrote decades ago which Ogden Nash actually joked about stealing from me:
Dear, your something special,
of all the girls I've dated.
I've seen the doctor and suspect
Not to worry.... there's no plans to make a living on my poetry.
