Sharon is rarely seen without a book, and in the last few years never far from a pen and notebook in which to jot her ideas. Her first accepted short story was entitled 'Silver Apples of the Moon' and was published by Roadworks Magazine. It was acknowledged as having 'both a Sci-Fi and horror element, strong on characterisation, and quite literary, in terms of style'. Editor, Trevor Denyer, said that it was a story that 'had me gripped from start to finish' and as a result pronounced her as 'a writer who is going places', and accepted subsequent work.

Thereafter, she was approached to write all reports and publicity material for The Really Wild Nursery and Arthritis Care SW 'Breaking Down the Barriers' garden project, which took place at the Malvern Spring Show. Although, primarily, Sharon likes to link her work most closely to 'fantasy' like most good story telling, her work often crosses genres, and she was only too happy to undertake a new aspect of writing with a professional approach, and gain another kind of experience. Other articles were therefore to follow and since then her work - poems, short stories and articles - have appeared steadily in print and in online publications. She is working on a fantasy, the first draft of which has been reviewed as 'well-written, carefully thought-out and inventive' as well as wonderfully entertaining. This gave her the added incentive to turn it into a trilogy so it needs some tinkering. In addition, she has several other novel ideas and writing projects on the go.

Her work is often acclaimed for its diversity together with her ability to work to 'order' within set guidelines or to fulfill a requirement where needed. Although not strictly freelance, she welcomes contact from anyone showing an interest in her work professionally or otherwise.

Her first Novel 'Uly's Comet' is available from Loose-Id and is now part of a trilogy under the collective title of The Swithin Chronicles. She has many other published works lined-up and in production. Asked why she chose Loose-Id as a publisher, the simple answer is that she likes the concept - to fly where your imagination wants to take you.

Praise for Uly's Comet:
Uly’s Comet is one of those rare books that succeeds on multiple levels: Not only is it an exciting tale of adventure, complete with dangerous magic and political intrigue, but it is also a powerful and multifaceted romance, chronicling the journey from resistance to acceptance of a passion not to be denied. A fantastic page-turner. I can’t wait for the next book in the Swithin Chronicles!
-- Jeanne Laws, author of A Good Man is Hard to Find (Loose Id)

This was the story of a very giving, understanding, but lost, leader who depends on his friends to ground him and keep him safe. I found it interesting, entertaining even though it was a little disconcerting. A good read that will have you thinking and make you want to call your best friends and thank them for all they do and who they are. I recommend this book to all that like to read about political intrigue, magical powers, and the more emotional aspects of relationships and how they form.
