Zamounde Allie was born June 18, 1965 in Detroit, Michigan. He holds a degree in Business Administration & Management, and has served over 16 years in the U.S. Air Force. Zamounde's currently on the Dean's list at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale (SIU).
The author has been writing publicly since 1993, his first book As the World Burns was published in 1995, and he served as co-host for a radio show in Little Rock, Arkansas from 1997-2000. Furthermore, in 2003 he was highly featured in the book, Journey To Timbooktu: An African-American Poetic Odyssey. His second book, The First Time I: Performance Poetry & More is now available.
