Edmund Wee

Singapore, Singapore

Email: edmundchristian@hotmail.com

Wee first worked as news broadcast journalist at a radio station, before venturing into print journalism.

He worked as a correspondent in Paris for an Anglo-French paper.

During his stint in Paris, he wrote for Financial Times, The Independent, Scotsman, The Australian and the South China Morning Post. He also wrote for Flaunt and Blackbook.

The stories he writes run across a wide spectrum of interests. He has tackled fashion; interviewed fashion photographer Helmut Newton, and Gallic couturier/enfant terrible Jean-Paul Gaultier. He has penned investigative pieces on subjects such as the world’s first computer hacking school and the subversive French swingers clubs. He also has an eye for history and culture; in one article, he recounts the tale of the twin literary cafes - Cafe de Flore and Les Deux Magots - which played host to surrealists and existentialists post-Belle Epoque.

Wee enjoys reading fiction, biography, history and philosophy.

For him, travelling is more about distraction than passion.

He graduated with an MA in Writing from the University of Warwick. He has published fiction in the Broadcast 2: Picture Thinking & Other Stories anthology. Wee is the author of The Narcissist.

Wee is currently studying an MA in Art and Visual Culture at Universite de Paris Diderot 7.
