Dandi Daley Mackall has published about 300 books for children and grown-ups, with sales of 3 million in 14 countries. Her publishers include Prentice-Hall, Simon Schuster, Dutton/Penguin-Putnam, Harper Collins, Harcourt, DreamWorks, Tyndale House, Tommy Nelson, Zondervan, Broadman, Harold Shaw, Concordia, Eerdmans, Standard, Honor Books, Augsburg-Fortress, Landoll's, Prima/St. Martin's, Ferguson, Sourcebooks, Disney, Warner Brothers, and Hanna Barbera. Sales in 2000-2001 include Off to Bethlehem, with Harper Collins; Are We There Yet? with Dutton; First Day with Harcourt; The Secret of Halloween & Who'll Light the Candles, Simon & Schuster; Joseph, King of Dreams, DreamWorks; Winnie, the Horse Gentler, a new middle-grade series with Tyndale House; and I'm Not Afraid Series with Tommy Nelson. Dandi's first children's book led to the series, "Jenny and Josh Books," followed by Allyson J. Cat picture books, & cassettes. Easy reader, God Made Me, Augsburg, is in its 10th printing. Kids Are Still Saying the Darndest Things, 1994, with introduction by Art Linkletter, led to an ongoing series of similar titles: Kids Say the Greatest Things About God, ...About Moms and ...Dads, ..Love, ...Angels. 1996 marked the release of a series of rhyming books and the start of her first juvenile mystery series, THE CINNAMON LAKE MYSTERIES, Concordia: The Secret Society of the Left Hand and The Case of the Missing Dirt,1996; The Great Meow Mystery & Don't Bug Me, Molly, 1997; Spies & Spider Webs, for Christmas '97; Soup Kitchen Suspicion & The Cinnamon Lake- ness Monster, '98, Presidential Mystery, '99. Three books for high school students on success in the workplace also came out in '97. An 11-book series, PUZZLE CLUB MYSTERIES, has been animated and aired nationally on television. 2000 kicked off her young adult fiction series, Horsefeathers: Horsefeathers; Horse Cents; Horse Whispers in the Air; A Horse of a Different Color;Horse Angels, Home Is Where Your Horse Is, A Horsefeather's Myster, All the King's Horses. 2000 releases included: 4 Little Blessing picture books, illustrated by Elena Kucharik, former Care Bear artist from Tyndale House (4 more under contract) & Portrait of Lies, TommyNelson, followed by Please Reply! 2001. Silent Dreams is due out in 2002 from Eerdmans, along with Off to Bethlehem!, HarperCollins; and Wild Thing! & Eager Star, teen fiction from Tyndale. Dandi has also written articles for Today's Woman, Western Horseman, Cowboy Hall of Fame, Chicken Soup for the Kid's Soul, Family Circle, Parenting, Worldwide Challenge, Guidepost, Power for Living,etc. She's held a humorist column and served as freelance editor. She's a frequent guest on radio talk shows, has hosted over 200 radio phone-in programs, and made dozens of appearances on TV, including ABC, NBC, and CBS. She was an instructor for Highlights conference and teaches book-writing for the Institute of Children's Literature. Currently, Dandi conducts writing assemblies and workshops across the U.S. She writes from rural Ohio, where she lives with her husband, Joe, and three children, Jen, Katy, and Dan--and one horse, a dog, a cat, & 2 newts.
