Although writing is my passion like most writers I still need to have an additional source of income. Therefore I have not and do not plan to entirely give up my law practice. I am an attorney who has been practicing law in Central Illinois for over 25 years. In the 1970s I served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman and later I was a Captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate Generalís Corp, Army National Guard. I try to draw on my life experiences in my writing to give it a realism that draws the reader into the lives of my characters. I use my interests in traveling and photography to gain more knowledge and experiences to be used in my writing.
I currently have three books published with Wings-Press; THE FIRST SUITOR, THE PREACHER and SCHOLARLY PURSUIT. I have two others under contract for release in 2006; MATTERS OF FAITH and FAIRWAY FATALITY with several others in progress. In THE FIRST SUITOR a young man just out of college, comes from rural southern Indiana to life in bustling Washington, D.C., his dream job with the National Security Agency and a lust for anything related to computers or digital media. When his new job gives him the opportunity to do a favor for the President of the United States by fixing his daughterís computer, he unexpectedly finds a new pleasure, unrelated to computers.
THE PREACHER is also a romantic suspense with some mystery thrown in for good measure. A lawyer from Illinois trying a civil rights case in Georgia finds rocky romance with a world famous country singer and the key to solving a thirty-five year old mass murder.
SCHOLARY PURSUIT, a romantic suspense with some action is about a twenty-year old, beautiful, but tough female Army MP who loves and lives the action of being an MP. Mary never wants to do anything else, but when she is assigned to be a nursemaid to a General's son she is sure the action is over. Especially when the General's son turns out to be a twenty-one year old genius with five PhDs, a mind like a computer and zero social skills. Mary sees him as a dork just like the rest of the world, but she soon discovers there is more to him than brains. However, thereís no room in her life for a man. All Mary wants is action and she gets plenty when terrorists kidnap him and force him to design a nuclear bomb.
