Jeffrey Pellegrino
I am a happily married, father of two. I am also a transport pilot in the United States Marine Corps. Although I have never been published, I have written enough reports and awards to fit into a few robust volumes. While droning along at 25,000 feet for the better part of eight years drinking two day old coffee and slowly losing my hearing, I have come to one conclusion: everything looks the same from 25,000 feet. Long flights are hours upon hours of extreme boredom interrupted by a few minutes of excitement and even, on occasion, a few seconds of stark terror. For the most part, though, it is idle time. Some crewmembers use their time to read magazines, complete crossword puzzles, or just veg out. I have used a good part of my time developing a few stories. During one of my deployments, I decided to spare my liver of an endless supply of adult beverages and, instead, wrote my first novel. Ever since then, I have continued to fan the flames of creativity that were sparked by my creative writing professor at Annapolis, and I continue to create.
