Just call me Kikki.  I am a single mom, living in Florida with far more kids than I remember giving birth to. I am a volunteer with the Guardian Ad Litem Program, helping abused and neglected children within the court system. I also volunteer as a mentor through a local program dealing with school age children.
I began writing seriously just last year, although I dabbled in writing children’s books and making up stories for my kids long before that. As I child, I had several poems, articles and short stories published in various newspapers and school newspapers.
My first series is about Izzy a goose and Zeus the moose. Izzy is a slightly neurotic clean freak, who has fostered many children in her lifetime. She meets Zeus during a cycling mishap which quite literally “crashes” her tea party, sending Izzy into something of a tizzy. She adopts the little boy and sets about raising him in the abandoned caboose she found and renovated.
My second series is geared more to the wild side. A group of canine scientists kidnap a nosy cat spy and use him to test their experimental flea dip on. The potion doesn’t have quite the desired effect and the cat goes through multiple metamorphosis, forcing the dogs to find new respect for their feline friend and work together in an attempt to change him back.
The series continues with many outrageous adventures in the life of the cat, often accompanied by his new friends, the canine scientists who often work together to “undo” some of the craziness that occurs as a result of the original experiment. The cat doesn’t immediately fit in following the initial experiment as the dogs were never quite able to transform him back to his former self. He is different, yet very special and most unique. Despite of all of that, the cat loves his new look, and goes to hysterical lengths to fit in with his new persona.
I plan to begin working on my third series fairly soon. This set of stories will revolve around the caricatures in my real life, my children, 5 geese, dog, cat, iguana, turtle and fish. With all the amazing antics that group inspires, it should be an exciting journey.
I would be very happy to share my work and hope you will enjoy reading my stories.
