Suzanna Lonchar is a second generation Italian-American with a proud and dramatic family history which she retells in the exciting memoir, "A Brooklyn Rose." Suzanna was born in Detroit, Michigan, where her mother
Rosie, the “Brooklyn Rose” of the story, moved during her high school years. Suzanna attended Central Michigan University in the 1970’s and was an honors student majoring in Fine Arts. She later attended the Gemini Fine Arts and Airbrushing School in Michigan in the 1980’s.
Suzanna inherited the maternal family gift of clairvoyance and healing, a gift also chronicled in her mother’s life in "A Brooklyn Rose." She has worked as a professional and highly sought after psychic in the Mid-West for the past
thirty years.
The dying wish of Suzanna’s mother was that a book telling the story of Rose’s incredible childhood in Brooklyn would be written in her honor. Suzanna has honored that wish with A Brooklyn Rose. Suzanna says: “After my mother’s death, I felt compelled to write her life story. To my amazement after the first paragraph, the words were coming to me faster than I could type
them. It was amazing how easy it was to write this story. Then I had an incredible discovery—because of my artistic talent, storytelling came easy. I found instead of using colors, I painted the scenes and characters with words.
These stories were all handed down through the family, and writing them down breathed life and flesh onto the bones of these tales.”
Today Suzanna lives in Sterling Hgts, Michigan, near her grown daughter,Son and grandchildren, where she thrives on the peaceful environment of the suburbs of Detroit.
