Lulu Wijaya

Surabaya, Indonesia

I started writing when I was still in elementary school. I remember when I was in fourth grade, our teacher asked what we wanted to be when we grew up, and I said I wanted to be an author. In junior high, I got some of my short fiction published in national publications--which took me completely by surprise. But then I moved to pursue my studies in Singapore and the U.S., and somehow writing became a little lower on my list of priorities. This is not to say that I stopped enjoying it; I actually won two college writing awards as an undergraduate for my literary analyses on the works of Henry James and Truman Capote. I have always had a passion for literature, and whether I am the reader or the read, does not make a difference to me. No
