While working as an actor, I was always involved in working with young people, running Drama workshops and developing plays as part of Youth Theatre festivals. This inspired to write and develop skills in other aspects of Television and Media.

I have had several Writing credits from 1990 to 1996/7. I stopped pursuing this profession as a career due to other personal commitments.

To date I have written several Plays, three of which were produced for the Fringe Circuit. Untold Secret of Aspi, co-wrote with another aspiring young writer, won the best Play and Director award at the Watermans Arts Centre Asian Drama Festival.

Silent Cries, adapted from a novel, toured London theatres and was received by large audience at most venues.

No Paani For Naughty Boys toured many of the London and Derby Youth Centres as it dealt with quite a controversial subject matter and again due to the nature of the piece was received very well by audiences as the company was invited to run workshops based around the central theme of the play – gang rape.

Other credits include:

2003 - Lets Have A Laugh - aired on OneWord digital Radio

30-second commercials for Radio advertising IT companies and their products.

10-minute shorts for various Festivals, Competitions and potential Production companies.

I have also had the opportunity to work as Assistant Director for Anglia Televisions ‘Shorts’ as well as a researcher/producer and presenter for several Asian Television channels.

As you can see, I have been quite fortunate with having such a varied and diverse employment history. It is this experience I would like to use and develop within the work I hope to carry out as a writer in the future.

Incidentally, the author of a new novel has approached me to adapt and develop this as a feature. The book has already generated interest from Time Warner, albeit, the studio are waiting to see the completed 1st draft of the novel. I have been in communication with the author and her agent with the possibility of getting a Director attached to the project.
