About the Author
As a 15 year survivor of the foster care system, I write and speak for foster care advocacy groups and other freelance causes. I am a prior U.S Navy Hospital Corpsman; my efforts included the design and authoring of medical training materials and the public education of military and civilian personnel. During my military service I spent months in Port Au Prince, Haiti. It was in the shadows of death, hunger, poverty and disease that my purpose and conviction became evident. This conviction now fuels my efforts in the persuit of foster care reform.
My book, A Soul to Call My Own, memoirs my survival within the foster care system and redemption in years to follow.
Interests: I am passionate about the plight of foster children and need for reform. As a writer, much of my effort is directed at venues for reform. I also enjoy reading, poetry, and time with my wonderful family.
