Roos began his work in the entertainment business in the early 1990's. After college Roos worked in Los Angeles for 5 years pursuing acting, where his lines from some semi-popular TV shows were all but cut--and he was seen in some B-movies that he counts as "fun life expereiences!"
In 2000 Roos decided it was time to leap on to the other side of the camera and produce some of his own work. It was at that time he decided to make the big leap BACK HOME to North Dakota! The mecca of...farming, not filmmaking. He started by producing his feature-length screenplay, VAN HOOK in 2000, with Sam Jones, Charlie Talbert and Bo Brown. Since then he has been producing documentary and television programs, TV commercials and lots of advertising copy! All the while he continued to dabble in acting and directing stage and smaller venue productions.
Within two years of moving home Roos' LEWIS AND CLARK
Documentary series, REDISCOVER THE CORPS
(2002-2006) which he wrote and produced aired
nationally on various stations. In that time he
also produced and worked on programs for OLN, FOX SPORTS NET and HISTORY CHANNEL.
In (2003-05) Roos' screenplay, HOMETOWN: ABRIDGED was performed in LA, Hollywood and North Dakota as Reader's Theatre. In (2004-06) he wrote a musical script for stage, LIL' CHICAG0, which he hopes to have produced in the near future.
In (2004-06) Roos' produced documentary AFTER METH (or "Shattered Lives"), afterwhich he was a writer/producer for PBS' Nationally syndicated INDIAN PRIDE (2006-07)television show. Now, in 2007 he is producing his own documentary, AMERICAN HERRO, the story of Roos' childhood Kurdish-refugee friend, turned U.S. Diplomat, Herro Mustafa.
Roos recently finished his 10th full-length screenplay, LIGHTNING FINDER and is currently writing and producing a feature film about Hockey. You can read some of his "truer thoughts" on the popular "www.clarkschpiell.com" or catch up with Kirk at his company's site: www.comm-corps.com.
Roos continues to write poetry and work on his "someday when he's 45" autobiography "Wake Up, Kirk."
