Valerie Connelly

Lindenhurst, Illinois, United States

Ms Connelly brings a first hand world view and passion for people to her novels. As a teacher of French and English as a Second Language since 1969, Ms Connelly has travelled and taught in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Over the years she has taught more than 4,000 students to value communication, learning and diversity. Her experience ranges from Togo, West Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer, to directing summer study/travel seminars in Europe, to setting up a language school in Iran before the fall of the Shah, and teaching in high schools in the Chicago area where she was born.

During the 1990's, her talents in music (she is a published ASCAP singer-songwriter with over 100 songs and a full musical to her credit)and visual arts (she is a landscape artist, painting the wilder vistas of the Upper Midwest and France, and a block printer with hundreds of images on cards, prints and decorative pieces) brought her entrepreneurial urges to the surface in two businesses, VALPRO Studios, and Blockart Prints. She holds a patent on an illuminated box called a GLOWBOX.

Her first novel, SACRED NIGHT was published in July 2003. Her second novel, SIDETRACKS will be out in 2004, and her third novel, THE CALLING is in draft form.
