Jen deHaan is a freelance web designer and developer, and has been involved in writing, contributing to or editing fifteen computer books on Macromedia Flash, ActionScript, digital video and Macromedia ColdFusion in 2002. Jen authored the Macromedia Flash MX 2004: Training from the Source (Macromedia Press). She has co-authored five books on Flash: Flash MX 2004 at your FingerTips (Sybex), The Designers ActionScript Reference, ActionScript Zero to Hero, and Flash MX Most Wanted Components. She also co-authored the Flash Remoting section of the ColdFusion Developerís Handbook published by Sybex. Jen also writes online articles about Flash, including a three part application-building tutorial for Macromedia's Developer Center.
Jen has also written on Dreamweaver MX and ColdFusion (Dreamweaver MX Practical guide to ColdFusion Web Development from APress), and a book on Movie Maker 2.0. She has recently finished writing Adobe Creative Suite for Dummies. She has contributed a combined 10 chapters to the Flash MX Bible and ActionScript Bible, and also edited and revised many other chapters. She was also a technical editor for the ColdFusion MX Bible, Studio MX for Dummies, and Complete Flash Remoting MX books.
Jen graduated with top honors from Vancouver Film School's full time New Media program. Prior to this, she spent five years in University and graduated with a BFA in Developmental Art from the University of Calgary. Jen, also an experienced teacher and writer, focuses on integrating technologies for the Web, particularly server, video and graphic art integration with Flash MX. Recently, she has been profiled for the University of Calgary print magazine called The Arch and in Macromedia's newsletter "the Edge".
